“Angami started as an application that aimed to fill a market need by providing music content to users,” recalls Elie Habib, co-founder and CTO of Angami. “However, over the past decade, Anghami has evolved into a platform and entertainment ecosystem for the MENA region. While Anghami already boasts a large library, it has also launched Anghami Studio, which aims to connect artists and brands and create content for Angami and third parties. The new organization is also behind Anghami Spotlight, which organizes live events and concerts for artists, and has launched its first hospitality arm, Anghami Lab, on Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Boulevard. In addition to holding live performances in each country, the aim is to discover local artists and talent.
Meanwhile, Anghami is also set to combine its operations with fellow local brand OSN+, the region’s leading streaming platform for premium content, in a merger famously declared to “reshape the MENA entertainment landscape.” be. As CEO of this new venture, which will become the MENA region’s first integrated music and video streaming platform, Habib is understandably excited about how Angami will evolve into the future. .

I will continue to work hard on this path, embrace the title of architect, and pursue I’m eagerly anticipating what the next 10 years will be and I hope to do so forever.”
Wishes and dreams like these underline all of Anghami’s efforts towards the next chapter, and it seems like Habib is just eager to get it all done. “Today, I am very excited about the future, as the OSN+ merger has opened up opportunities that I have longed for,” he says. “In fact, my goal today is to build a unique media company in the region. Personally, I always try to learn more, but I don’t think I’ve ever learned this much. As Charlie Munger said: A life well lived is simply learning, learning, learning.”

If you look back at where you were in your entrepreneurial/career/business trajectory 10 years ago, would you have done anything differently if you knew what you know now? Or the biggest thing you wish you had known 10 years ago? What are the lessons learned?
“Looking back, I realize that some of my past decisions could have been approached differently. I now understand the importance of giving equal weight to delivery, and if I knew it then, I know it now, but I think I emphasized this balance from the beginning. If I were to send a message to myself, I would tell myself to continue to drive innovation within self-imposed constraints.The term “constraint” is very important here. ”
