Donald Goske now buys hamburgers in bulk twice a week.
Guinness World Records title holder Donald Goske has further solidified his status as the individual who has eaten the most Big Mac burgers in a lifetime. Throughout 2023, the 70-year-old consumed an additional 728 Big Macs, bringing his total to a staggering 34,128.
As recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records, Mr. Goske and Big Mac’s journey began about 52 years ago, on May 17, 1972, to be exact. He recalled the first time he ate a Big Mac and said, “I’ll probably be eating this for the rest of my life.” From that day on, he diligently tracked each burger, kept the cartons in his car, and started counting them from day one.
Gorske, a former corrections officer from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, saved decades of containers and receipts. Although his efforts received widespread attention, Mr. Gorske achieved his first world record in 1999. Initially consuming 9 hamburgers each day, he then reduced his intake to 2 (one for lunch and one for dinner).
The organization responsible for verifying the records said Mr. Goske went to McDonald’s every day to get fresh hamburgers. However, since I retired, I buy in bulk twice a week, savoring one piece immediately and saving the rest for later consumption.
Notably, Mr. Goske’s diet primarily revolves around his daily allotment of Big Macs. Refuel with chips, fruit bars, or ice cream when you’re hungry.
He tried Burger King’s Whopper in 1984, but remained adamant about his beloved Big Mac, declaring, “When I like something, I stick to it forever.”
Notably, Mr. Gorsk’s love of Big Macs also influenced his proposal to his wife Mary, which took place in a parking lot. Reflecting on her tolerance for his idiosyncrasies, Goske said, “She put up with a lot of the things I did compulsively, and I didn’t let her notice my Big Mac.” , expressed her gratitude.
The most surprising part is Goske’s claim that he has never experienced any health problems, despite eating more than 34,000 hamburgers. To stay healthy, he foregoes fries with his burgers and walks six miles every day.
