His career trajectory includes key executive roles at reputable high-tech companies such as GMC Digital Printing Systems, Scitex Digital Printing, Inc., Kodak Versamark Inc., and Given Imaging Ltd. In 2014, Mr. Samandari founded KCSH & Associates in Singapore, driven by a desire to incubate start-ups. The company specializes in mentoring young high-tech companies, facilitating their entry into Asian markets by identifying strategic business partners and fostering growth in this vibrant region.
A defining chapter in Samandari’s journey was the creation of L’Opera, a venture born out of a pivotal family decision. “Moving to India was a practical move,” he recalls. “The ability to significantly reduce travel time, in line with the family’s wishes, was an attractive factor.” L’Opera aims to become a major player in India by acquainting the Indian public with authentic and premium French pastries and bakery products. Lopera’s journey began in 2007. As president of an international company’s Asia-Pacific activities, he split his time between offices in Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong, spending nearly 20 days each month in Asia. During this time, his family lived in Paris. But an opportunity presented itself when his son-in-law, who was at McKinsey at the time, expressed his desire to move abroad. He considered China and India, and finally settled on India, partly due to linguistic considerations.
In 2007, they settled in South Delhi’s Mayfield Gardens. The big turning point came when, within two hours, they were offered space on the first floor. Although he was in Tokyo and his family was scattered, he made the decision to move to India in 15 minutes over a conference call.
Looking back on L’Opera’s founding, Mr. Samandari says: “While in India, my son Laurent, who was doing an internship, noticed a gap in the market for quality French bakery products. This observation led to a year and a half of in-depth market research and strategic planning. The process has begun.”

The equipment from France arrived in India on July 14, 2010 and became operational after six to seven months of preparation. Despite this, he did not quit his job immediately. He continued until 2014 when he ended his position based in Tokyo.
Importantly, Samandari emphasizes the core values that underpinned Lopera’s success. “We envisioned a company founded on the values of excellence, quality, integrity, gender equality and sustainability,” he emphasizes. “It was extremely important to us to instill these principles into our corporate culture. Creating a business is about embodying these principles at every level, not just in products, but from production to employee behavior.” That was it.”
