CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Local business owner Chris Lanier has announced his candidacy for Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board, District 6.
Lanier, a Clarksville native, is the owner of Lanier Lawn & Landscape, a 24-year-old local business. Born and raised in Clarksville, Lanier attended Norman Smith Elementary School, graduated from Clarksville High School, and earned a degree in agriculture from Austin Peay State University. He is also a member of his Clarksville Class of 2023 in Leadership.
Mr. Lanier’s wife, Carrie, was a first grade teacher at Rossview Elementary School, and his mother was a teacher and retired counselor at Coral Elementary School. Chris himself has actively contributed to his educational activities, including serving as a teaching partner and contributing to educational activities. The Kiwanis Club of Clarksville is working to donate approximately 4,000 books to students through the CMCSS Educational Foundation.
“As a father and business owner, deeply invested in the future of our community, I am excited to announce my candidacy for District 6 on the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board,” Lanier said. “I am committed to working with parents, teachers, and community leaders to ensure our schools provide a nurturing and innovative learning environment for all children.”
Lanier said progress for Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools requires concrete, fiscally responsible programs and a commitment to transparency and openness. He expressed his determination to fight for children’s right to a quality education and ensure that educators and staff are equipped with the tools they need.
