Woods shared the news on Instagram, calling Nike one of the “most iconic brands in the world” and looking to the future of his career.
“People will ask if there will be a next chapter,” he wrote, hinting at the possibility of new sponsorship. “Yes, there is definitely a next chapter.”
Nike also confirmed the news by posting a photo of Woods wearing a red Nike golf polo shirt on their official Instagram account.
The caption on the photo reads, “One hell of a round, Tiger.” “You challenged the entire golf world. You challenged us. And most of all, you challenged yourself. And we are grateful for that challenge.”
Woods, who became a professional golfer in 1996, will make his long-awaited return to the Masters Tournament in April 2022 after missing several years ago due to a back-related injury.
