The final week of the regular season has been an interesting one for the Dallas Cowboys for the past two years prior to Sunday. Heading into this matchup in 2021, the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are each locked into their playoff positions (Dallas is the No. 3 seed, Philly is the No. 7 seed) and have nothing to offer in terms of playoff improvement. There was nothing to do. The Cowboys chased some records, got them and felt strong heading into the postseason, but were quickly repelled.
Last year was similar to this year in that one needed the other to lose for the Cowboys and Eagles to keep an eye on the scoreboard and open the door to opportunity. Just as Philadelphia failed to stumble back then, the Cowboys went about their business, albeit in a much more solid and unquestionable manner.
Admittedly, things were a little tense early against the Washington Commanders. But the Cowboys didn’t blink, the scoreboard basically read “NFC East Champions, Holders of the No. 2 seed,” and the focus shifted to the team that eventually became Green Bay’s Packers.
Ultimately Sunday is a clinic and our stock report reflects that.
Stock up: Tony Pollard
As the game progressed, it looked like this was the best Tony Pollard had seen and played all season. I certainly felt that way.
Sunday was the third time Pollard averaged at least 4.1 YPC on at least 17 carries (Arizona earlier this season, Green Bay last season). His touchdown capped off his impressive drive that had us all dreaming and wondering about making the playoffs with him. this His version of that.
Stock: Damone Clarke
Things were a little tense for the Cowboys early in this game, especially as their managers were clearly letting everything go by without making any plays. There were all sorts of trick plays and fourth-down attempts, and it looked like hair would be pulled out by the end of the game.
One quarter-down attempt in particular was clearly enough for Damone Clark. Although he broke through and did not make the final tackle himself, he caused enough confusion and confusion to buy time for the cavalry to come home and provide the necessary halt.
The Cowboys’ run defense has obviously been a little unreliable (kind) lately, so if Clark can help stabilize things, all will be well.
Inventory: Jalen Tolbert
As far as the Dallas Cowboys pass catchers go, we know the big names, but sometimes you find yourself in a pinch and someone else needs to make a play. The other player early in Sunday’s game was Jalen Tolbert.
I don’t want to make a big fuss over the moment, but this was a moment where Dak Prescott needed a high level of trust in someone. That trust is placed in Jalen Tolbert, and we’re getting into a point in the season where that kind of trust can play a key role.
Stock: Jordan Lewis
We all agree that this is the best play Jordan Lewis has ever played for the Cowboys, right? Oh my God.
Not only the fumble he caused and the interception against Detroit, but Lewis was the nickel corner this team needed after the domino effect of Trevon Diggs’ injury, especially after his return from injury. It shows how great a player he is. He spent part of last season.
Stock up: Donovan Wilson
Big players make big plays. Hello, my name is Donovan Wilson.
We will need more within the next month.
Stock: CeeDee Lamb
Not only is CeeDee Lamb a permanent fixture on stock reports, he’s at the top of basically every rating in the NFL. He’s an incredibly special person.
At some point, let’s take a moment to reflect on the fact that we’ve just seen the best season ever for a Dallas Cowboys wide receiver. He’s been the most dangerous and reliable skill player this team has had in a very long time, and given how well he’s played, the lead may be wider than we think.
Stock: Dak Prescott
This is just my own personal and humble opinion…but this is the top 5 all-time touchdowns of Dak Prescott’s career.
It has been said before that things seem to have fallen into place for Prescott, much later than his predecessor had hoped. Dak has the perfect blend of mental and physical ability to make special plays, and things get even worse when you add talented players to get him the ball.
We’ve seen some elite football from Dak Prescott before, but this is definitely the closest he’s ever been to the sun. That’s what makes the playoffs so exciting here.

Stock Up: Brandin Cooks
While we give proper praise to CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks filled a very special and necessary role on this team.
Cooks did not reach 1,000 receiving yards in his first season with the Cowboys, but he did score eight touchdowns, tied for second-most in his career. This is Cooks’ first season with at least eight touchdowns since 2016 with the New Orleans Saints.
Even though Lamb is having what he defines as the best season ever for a Cowboys wide receiver. still There were a lot of moments where someone had to make the right play. Thankfully, Brandin Cooks is a different person.
Stock: Daron Brand
When Diggs went down, he led the NFL in interceptions — No. 9 entered Sunday — after being thrust into a role he wasn’t prepared for. What a talent! What a discovery! What a story!
