One Place is one step closer to a permanent home after receiving an additional grant this week.
One Place received a $100,000 grant from the Truist Charitable Foundation as part of a capital campaign for the SECU Hope Center, the organization’s future home, according to a Friday media release from One Place. That’s what it means.
The new permanent space will ensure access to services for local children and families, as well as strengthen the places children grow, including in families, childcare centres, schools, military installations and within the wider community. Support Place’s efforts.

With One Place’s expansion, the organization will reduce wait times for critical and time-sensitive assessments at Child Counseling Centers (CACs), double the number of children served at CACs, and reduce child abuse cases by 100%. Ownership of the new building also provides sustainability for the organization, the release added. One Place spends more than $200,000 each year on leasing office space. Current funds do not permit spending on capital projects.
The SECU Hope Center will not only provide the organization with a permanent home, but will also enable capital accumulation and expansion of programs and services through the reinvestment of funds previously tied to rentals/leases.
