Proposed skyscraper for Oklahoma City, second to One World Trade Center in the US

Oklahoma City is only the 42nd largest metropolitan area in the United States, but it may one day be home to the nation’s second-tallest building.

Centurion Partners last month proposed building a 1,750-foot tower in downtown Oklahoma City’s Bricktown called Boardwalk that would combine housing, retail, entertainment and a hotel. Although Oklahoma City is smaller than New York City, it has a growing population of approximately 1.4 million people in 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics. The Oklahoma City Council recently approved $200 million in tax increment financing for the entire Bricktown Boardwalk project, which still requires approval from the Department of City Planning. The City Council also approved a $5.5 million sales tax rebate.

The Bricktown Tower Boardwalk would be located near a proposed $900 million arena for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. The structure will include a 480-room hotel developed by Dream Group Holdings. 1,776 luxury homes. and 100,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space.
