I am a born Coloradan, raised in Parker, and have an abiding passion for music that has continued into my adult life. LILY P4D When she’s not immersed in her business, she creates and performs music and promotes her personal music brand.

I am currently in my third year at Leeds Business School, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Music.
“What made you choose that major?”
Business has been a lifelong interest that has evolved from ventures like a childhood lemonade stand to her current role at LILY P4D, a music technology startup. Choosing a music minor aligns with my long-standing passion for music production.
“Have you been able to make any connections in Leeds that will help your business?”
Although there was no direct connection that led me to LILY P4D, the knowledge I gained from my teachers at Leeds, especially BASE, my 6-credit business application semester experience, and my marketing classes made me an invaluable asset to the business. It helped me to.
“What was the most helpful class you have ever taken at Leeds and why was it helpful?”
Digital marketing has proven to be extremely beneficial, and the skills you learn are directly applicable to your work at LILY P4D, covering areas such as website design, Google Analytics, social media management, and SEO.

“Obviously, juggling school and your own business is not easy. What are your strategies for managing both?”
Creating a schedule around a carefully curated list of priorities is essential. In my room, I take a visual approach and laminate the pages and paste them on the wall for easy reference. These categorized pages include school assignments, general his to-do lists, music production club responsibilities, and assignments related to LILY P4D. This method allows you to break your workload into manageable chunks, making it easier to understand even the busiest list. Additionally, we maintain an extensive calendar to record important dates and upcoming events. If tasks seem insurmountable, periodically reprioritize and readjust to optimize efficiency.
“Would you recommend other entrepreneurs attend CU or university in general?”
I highly recommend attending CU, especially Leeds, to study business because of the excellent teachers, comprehensive learning, and wealth of resources.
“Could you please tell us more about your business and what it entails?”
LILY P4D (Pad 4 Ducking) is a microphone ducking tool that allows live musicians to control microphone volume. This solves the problem of stage noise in live performances and creates a better experience for the audience and musicians.
“If you had to promote your service or product in one sentence, what would you say?”

“In your journey as an entrepreneur, what is the biggest personal challenge you have had to overcome or are still trying to overcome?”
My biggest challenge lies in navigating the unknown. Education and self-discovery have provided us with knowledge, but the rapid evolution of the digital environment presents constant challenges. Certainty is hard to come by in this dynamic environment. For example, a query like the best time to post on Instagram will return a myriad of responses. The truth is, succeeding in a changing world requires staying ahead of the curve, not just keeping up, and that’s what characterizes my continued efforts.
“Are you using AI in your daily life or business? If so, how? If not, why?”
I use ChatGPT extensively for a variety of business tasks, from creating email marketing campaigns to generating captions for Instagram posts. Processes are streamlined, allowing you to focus on core aspects of your business.
“What is the end goal of your venture? Where do you see the finish line?
Our goal is to reach as many audio engineers as possible and positively impact the live music experience around the world. We aim to grow independently and explore further opportunities with potential partners.
“Looking back from when you started your business to now, what has been the most surprising or unexpected thing about your entrepreneurial journey?”
What was amazing was how quickly I learned new skills. I started with no experience, quickly learned and mastered the business, and moved from manufacturing to marketing.
“What’s the next step in your business?”
Once you have covered all areas, the next step is to focus on marketing. Manufacturing, sourcing and management are in place and we are prioritizing tasks to drive our self-funded business forward. The product works, but no one knows about it. Therefore, building an awareness campaign is the next step.
“What results have you achieved in your business so far?”

I am grateful to Drew and my family for their support. LILY P4D not only provided me with valuable business experience, but also allowed me to develop further skills in photography, contributing to both my personal and professional growth.
