WASHINGTON – Congressional leaders on Saturday are preparing a short-term bill to keep the government funded through the first two weeks of March, according to media reports.

The continuing resolution will last until March 1 for federal agencies scheduled to run out of funding approved Friday, The Associated Press reported, citing anonymous sources “familiar with the situation.” . The bill would extend remaining government operations until March 8, news outlets reported.
The measure is expected to be announced on Sunday, according to the Associated Press. It would need support from Democrats to pass in the narrowly contested House.
CNN was the first news outlet to report on the makeshift bill. The cable news network also cited anonymous sources.
According to The Hill, a spokesperson for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the text of the continuing resolution will be posted online Sunday night.
CNN reports that House Republicans are scheduled to hold a conference call Sunday night to discuss the continuing resolution.
The agreement comes less than a week before the initial funding deadline of January 19th. The deadline for the second round of government funding was originally set for February 2nd.
