(ABC 6 News) – If you live in Minnesota, you’re familiar with Minnesota Hockey Day. A day when hockey players of all ages and levels come together to celebrate and play the sport they love.
Now, another sport will have its own day in the North Star State. Minnesota Baseball Day was announced on May 11th.
This event is an initiative of Prep Baseball Minnesota and the Minnesota Twins Community Foundation, and is a passion project created by Prep Baseball Minnesota Director Andy Judkins and Social Media and Operations Director Parker Hageman. It is said that
“The goal is to make it unique,” Judkins said. “This is an event that is expected to be different than your typical high school baseball game. There are several details that will make this day special at a later date, or even in advance of it. We discussed some things and they were very helpful and did a great job.”
Judkins and Hageman hope to attract baseball programs from all corners of the state, from Grand Portage to Worthington and Rochester to Moorhead.
The organization is also looking for businesses and sponsors from around the state to help grow the organization, which will hold its first event on May 11 at Veterans Field in Minnetonka.
