JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — For the past few days, people in Mount Juliet have not been kept from going out by snow and ice.
Corner Pub Between the Lakes was one of the few restaurants serving customers in Mount Juliet during this week’s winter storm.
“We’re from the Midwest, so we’re not afraid of snow,” said Stephanie DeLong, owner of CP Between the Lakes.
It’s not something DeLong hasn’t seen before. “Mountains” Juliet is a very rapidly growing community, but it has a small town feel. ”
Originally from Illinois, Stephanie and her husband Kevin moved to Mount Juliet to retire and open the Corner Pub off North Mount Juliet Road. “It was where we were meant to be,” she said.
However, in April 2023, Stephanie unexpectedly lost her husband Kevin. Six months later, she lost her son Keegan in a motorcycle accident.
“It’s hard to keep moving forward after losing two strong players who played the biggest roles here, but we’re doing it,” DeLong said.
Even after taking some time off, customers and employees kept the business fully operational, she said. “The appreciation from our community that we have received from our employees, customers and families has been overwhelming.”
Help showed up even during this week’s winter weather.
“It was packed, it was packed…We had some customers who helped out pre-opening because of travel time,” DeLong said.
Stephanie said it was all because of her community that she was able to weather the most difficult storm of her life. “This is where Kevin wanted us to move and he wanted us to be. But I felt like you can’t stop, you can’t stop. They don’t want us to do that.”
Stephanie told News 2 that a customer who owns a four-wheel drive vehicle has been generous enough to have some of her employees come and pick her up so they can get to work safely. .

She decided to close the pub at 4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid people driving in the snow after dark.
