STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) — Paying for cancer treatment is difficult for everyone, but it’s often everyday expenses that are even more difficult to cover.
But a $5,000 donation to Trinity on Thursday morning could help ease that burden a little.
The funds will be donated to the TEAR Foundation to support the recovery process of patients at the Tony Teramana Cancer Center.
Wintersville business owner Joel John raised some of the money last month by selling sidewalk lights to illuminate Main Street.
Celebrity events have become an annual tradition since the coronavirus outbreak, and he said many other people helped make this check possible.
“I have a very strong connection to cancer. My grandfather passed away from cancer a few years ago, and my cousin passed away from cancer on a weekend that was actually attended by celebrities. So this year is very important. , it was a very heart-warming year.”

“Often, cancer patients are unable to return to work fully or at all, even after receiving a diagnosis and treatment. So when difficulties arise at home, we help them and We can help in the form of assistance. We can help with heating and cooling costs, and we can help with mortgage payments.”

Trinity plans to work with Joel on this year’s fundraiser, which will include celebrity and Christmas decoration walk-throughs in 2023.
