Details regarding workplace safety will be discussed on Feb. 6 at the 2024 Safety Seminar hosted by the Northwest Indiana Business Roundtable (NWIBRT), according to the release.
According to the release, all presenting companies are previous winners of NWIBRT’s Innovation Award, which is presented at the annual Construction Awards Banquet. This award is given only to companies that develop new safety initiatives, processes and procedures that creatively solve industry safety challenges and problems.

Save the Dunes and 10 partner organizations in Indiana and Illinois, known as the Calumet Land Conservation Partnership (CLCP), will receive the Force from the Chicago Conservation Alliance on January 17th at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois.・The release announced that it won the Nature Award.
Force of Nature Award recipients are nominated by their peers and share a passion for the environment and a determination to improve their communities, the release said. Save the Dunes and her CLCP group were nominated for the Calumet Area Conservation Action Planning Project. This is a collaborative approach to protecting the nature of the bi-state region.
CLCP partners include Save the Dunes, Shirley Heinze Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy, Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Commission, National Park Conservation Association, Audubon Great Lakes, Openlands, Metropolitan Planning Council, Wetlands Initiative, Field Museum, Northwest Indiana Includes Urban Waters. FAITH CDC (Families Anchored in Total Harmony Inc.) recently announced that enrollment in the Food Is Medicine (FFIM) program is underway, according to a release.
The program will provide northwest Indiana residents with free produce and meal-specific meals each week for six months, according to the release. We are currently accepting patients who have been diagnosed with diabetes, coronary artery disease, or gastrointestinal disease. A referral from a primary care physician is required, the release states.

The program, located at 656 Carolina Street in Gary, is a partnership between Methodist Hospital and local physicians and farmers. A total of 120 slots are available, according to the release.
