Entrepreneurial dreams can start early in your mind and stay there, or they can turn into a challenge to be achieved. For many people, the starting point is daunting and they need guidance to turn all their thoughts into a well-thought-out plan. Small businesses are the foundation of thriving communities, and we at the Chamber are their strongest advocates.
In 2020, in partnership with Central Carolina Community College’s Small Business Center and Downtown Sanford Inc., the Sanford Entrepreneurs Real Investment Program, known as RISE, was launched. This program is designed to help entrepreneurs launch their businesses or help existing Sanford entrepreneurs learn best practices for business success. In the eight-class program, participants will be guided through the business plan writing process while learning the concepts, practices, and tools needed to improve their chances of success in this competitive commercial environment.
One of the biggest benefits of this program is that it’s free for all participants. This free program provides insight into how to run a profitable business, from financing options and taxes to understanding legal references, and ends with a small business plan to take your startup to the next level. . At the end of RISE, participants choose to present their business plan to a panel of business experts for a chance to win his $5,000 grant to help start a small business. can. Two entrepreneurs in this year’s cohort will each have a chance to win his $5000 grant.
