The Los Alamos County Council recognized numerous awards, honors and achievements earned by the County Treasurer’s Office team.
According to the agenda document, the City Council will provide the county with the 2023 budget, the 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), the 2022 General Annual Financial Report (PAFR), and the receipt of the New Mexico State Auditor’s Office. Additionally, the agenda document states that the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) announced on January 16 that Los Alamos County received the GFOA’s Outstanding Budget Presentation Award for its 2023 budget.

Additionally, on November 20, 2023, GFOA announced that the county’s PAFR was awarded a Certificate of Achievement by GFOA. PAFR “substantially meets the requirements of the PAFR program. These requirements are based on an evaluation of the information presented, reader appeal, understandability, distribution, and other factors.”
This award represents the seventh year that PAFR has earned this honor in the seven years since it was submitted.
On January 30, GFOA confirmed that Los Alamos County received awards in all three reporting categories: Budget, ACFR, and PAFR, and was awarded the Triple Crown Honor. This is the fifth year the county has received the designation.
At the annual New Mexico Counties (NMC) Legislative Conference held on January 18, the county was honored with the Audit Accountability Award, jointly issued by the New Mexico State Auditor’s Office and the NMC Association. This is his seventh year that Los Alamos County has received this award for outstanding auditing with zero audit results.
