CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — Water and wastewater services are being updated across West Virginia, including two communities in Harrison County.
On February 7, the West Virginia Infrastructure and Employment Development Council announced $6.4 million in funding for sewer and water projects across West Virginia. Some projects also receive additional funding from public sources such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Clean Water State Revolving Fund, Drinking Water Treatment Revolving Fund, and Congressional Directed Appropriations.
The complete list of projects includes:
- Bluewell Public Service District — $500,000.Total amount: $3.3 million
- Mineral County PSD — $665,000.Total amount: $10 million
- New Haven PSD — $500,000.Total amount: $7 million
- Nutterfort — $1 million.Total amount: 2 million dollars
- Romney — $1 million.Total amount: $4.4 million
- West Milford — $470,000.Total amount: 1 million dollars
- Birch River PSD — $1.13 million.
- Kanawha County Regional Development Authority — $1.08 million
In addition to these funded projects, the City Council also approved a technical review and request for funding for five additional sewer and water projects, which were found to be viable. The request for funding has been approved. These include:
- Lincoln County PSD — Estimated cost $1.1 million.
- Mason County PSD — Estimated cost $6.3 million.
- Salem — Estimated cost $4.6 million.
- Cottageville PSD — Estimated cost: 1.4 million.
- Logan City — Cost estimated at $12 million.
