EMMET COUNTY — The Emmet County Friendship Center, Council on Aging recently announced that it received a $2,000 Senior Essentials Fund grant from the Petoskey Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation.
This grant will enhance efforts to assist Emmet County residents ages 60 and older who are struggling to meet their financial obligations.
The Senior Essentials Fund, administered by the Council on Aging, helps promote independence and improve the quality of life for older people in our communities. This fund helps seniors with needs outside of normally available resources, such as health-related expenses, uninsured medications, safety and welfare needs, or emergency home repairs.
“We are deeply grateful to the Petoskey Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation for their generous support of our Senior Essentials Fund,” said Jody Mundy, social worker at the Friendship Center. “This grant will allow us to continue providing critical support to seniors in need in our community.”
If you are an Emmet County senior seeking assistance from the Senior Essentials Fund, please contact the Council on Aging at (231) 347-3211.
