CHICAGO (WLS) — Monday morning marked the third break-in in two months at a Northside plumbing and heating business.
The crime occurred in the 4300 block of North Lincoln Avenue.
“I can promise you we’ll get hit again,” Fettes Love and Sieben owner Scott Hoffman said. “This is completely ridiculous.”
The most recent robbery occurred around 4:15 a.m. Monday morning.
The thieves broke a window and stole hand tools, a pipe threader, and other power tools. The owner said equipment valued at more than $100,000 was stolen.
“They just want the tools,” he says. “Those are expensive pieces of equipment.”
Hoffman’s store was broken into at 5 a.m. last Wednesday and again at 6 a.m. on January 18th.
In both cases, the thief remained inside for 15 minutes before breaking a window and leaving with tools.

During the Jan. 18 robbery, an employee was held at gunpoint.
“It was two plumbers who came in early and put guns to their heads,” Hoffman said.
Hoffman said she reached out to city staff and her ward’s alderman for help. He said the plumbing company has been around for 100 years.
“We’re in a great neighborhood on the Northside, but our hands are tied,” he said. “Nothing is being done. It’s very upsetting. It’s terrible.”
Hoffman said some of the stolen devices had Apple AirTags installed. Police told him they were tracking him.
No arrests have been made so far.
