Founderful, the Swiss VC fund formerly known as Wingman Ventures, announced that its latest fund, with a $120 million target, has reached 70 percent capacity at $85 million.
Five years old, Wingman Ventures is co-founded by Pascal Mathis, co-founder of Swiss unicorn GetYourGuide, Alex Stöckl, former head of Switzerland at Creathor Ventures, and Lukas, co-founder of EAT.ch. It is the brainchild of Mr. Weder.
The fund specializes in providing pre-seed startups with both the capital and industry know-how needed to take things from zero to reality.
The company has invested approximately $60 million in approximately 40 startups. To put this number into perspective, of these 40+ startups of his, 109 founders are responsible for creating just over 1,000 jobs for him, and he is nearly 6 times more responsible for creating just over 1,000 jobs. We have raised an additional $50 million in funding.
The companies’ second fund also aims to double its first vintage, continuing to advance Founderful’s ethos of building pre-seed startups and providing practical operational experience in parallel.
Founderful’s second fund is backed by the unicorn founders of Duolingo, Climeworks, GetYourGuide, Deliver Hero, and Scandit, as well as multiple institutional investors and family offices, according to Flim.
Founding partner Alex Stockl said:
“I am extremely grateful to continue working alongside the most ambitious team of founders in this exciting ecosystem. Switzerland is one of the fastest growing venture capital markets in the world. The global shift to more complex technologies to solve some of our society’s most pressing challenges will make it one of the world’s most important technology hubs.
“The background of our founder and executive, and the deep-rooted access we have built over the years to universities and research institutions through our Founderful Campus program, make us the go-to company for entrepreneurs and investors. Masu.”
