In a remarkable entrepreneurial feat, two young visionaries, ages 23 and 25, unveiled a paradise of luxury with the launch of Play Bar, a black luxury spa. Nia Marie, a 25-year-old professional esthetician of Guyanese descent, works with her 23-year-old business partner Ashley Small to bring elegance and special luxury to women of color. I did.
This venture is more than just a business. This is a passion project that reflects the passion and investment these young entrepreneurs put into creating a space where women can relax and indulge. Spas are more than just pampering. It is a sanctuary that recognizes the unique needs of women of color and provides specialized treatments for hair, skin, and nails.
Drawing inspiration from her own experiences, Nia Marie realized that luxury spaces designed for women of color were not available. Determined to bridge this gap, she embarked on a journey to establish a spa dedicated to the needs of black women. ”Our goal is to provide more than just a service. We want to create an experience. Every woman should feel pampered and satisfied, and our spa is here to make that a reality,” said Marie.

Decorated with carefully selected aesthetics, the spa exudes a tranquil atmosphere, allowing patrons to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s more than just a place for beauty treatments. A community hub where women can gather, share stories, and build lasting bonds.
In addition to providing a haven for relaxation, young entrepreneurs are also making great strides in job creation and providing opportunities for others in the community. The company’s commitment to women’s empowerment extends beyond the spa, with a vision to expand its services to other states and bring its unique luxury brand to a broader audience.
“We want to redefine luxury for women of color. Our vision includes expanding our range so that more women can experience the care and attention they deserve. This includes expanding the ,” Marie added.
When a Black luxury spa opens its doors, it not only marks a milestone for these ambitious young women, but also sets a precedent for inclusivity and excellence in the beauty and wellness industry. Play Her Bar is located at 64-73 Dry Harbor Rd., Queens, New York. Call 347-802-2034 or follow us on Instagram @ playbar_ny.
The young businesswoman invites all women to step into their sanctuary, relax and enjoy the luxury they truly deserve.
