columbus indiana – Heritage Foundation Bartholomew County (HFBC) recently awarded $45,476 in grants from the Community Foundation to local nonprofit organizations as part of its fourth quarter grant cycle.
Through the generous support of community members, HFBC distributes approximately $600,000 to $700,000 in grants annually from its unrestricted community fund to local nonprofit organizations. These grants will help meet emerging needs in Bartholomew County in the areas of youth development, arts/culture/architecture/design, downtown vibrancy, and community response.
The Heritage Fund’s 2024 quarterly grant deadlines are March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1.
The fourth quarter 2023 Community Foundation grant recipients announced Friday are:
- Love Chapel – $16,700 for website development and support.
- Indiana University Columbus – $12,150 to support iEngage Civic Camp
In addition to the Community Foundation grant, the following awards were received:
- Leadership Bartholomew County – $995 in program scholarships.
- Game Changer, Inc. – $2,500 to support The Republic newspaper documentary
- Indiana University Foundation – $200 to support the IU Columbus Pride Pantry
- International Community Development Inc. of Columbus – $750 to sponsor MLK Day 2024
- Kids Commons – $1,000 Sponsorship to Carnival
