Vincent Chan didn’t have the network to land a full-time job in the financial industry. An immigrant from China who came to the United States as a young man, his network was primarily blue-collar workers.
But Vincent worked hard and landed in the corporate finance industry, earning an annual salary of $120,000. As he told his Business Insider, “I was spending 60 to 80 hours every week helping this super-large organization realize its dreams. I didn’t want to spend that time on myself. I could have done that.”
Once these seeds germinated, Vincent began devoting consistent time each week as a content creator. He has developed videos to help people learn about finance and how to better handle their money. And he saved money.
“When I quit, I knew I had a financial safety net and could survive on it if anything happened,” Vincent told BI, adding that he had enough savings to last him a year. Stated.
Safety nets give people more choice, Vincent explains. “Working for a company may give you a sense of security and stability, but you don’t really know because you could be fired the next day.”
In 2023, Penny Hoarder named him one of 11 Asian American Financial Influencers to Follow. Vincent runs his YouTube channel, distributes a weekly newsletter called reThinkable, and posts regularly on Instagram and his TikTok.

He also expands their learning opportunities. On his YouTube channel, the majority of his videos are devoted to playlists that introduce you to a healthier, richer life, but he also hosts playlists that explain finance, economics, and wealth building.
But no matter where Vincent distributes his content, he is always focused on creating a directional connection with his audience. Almost every call to action leads to getting the viewer’s email address.
