Cameron Connor has been selected as Director of Athletic Marketing and Fan Engagement at the University of Southern Indiana, effective Monday, February 26th. He will report to Kindra Strap, vice provost for marketing and communications, and John Mark Hall, vice provost and director. of the track and field club.
As Director of Athletic Marketing and Fan Engagement, Connor will bring strong vision and be responsible for planning, developing and implementing athletic marketing strategies, branding initiatives, marketing communications, community activities and game experiences. This role is responsible for raising the profile of his USI Athletics within and outside the university.
Prior to joining USI, Conner served as Director of Game Day Operations and Events at McKendree University in Illinois, where he served as Game Day Manager for 36 athletic programs and was responsible for increasing attendance and revenue for athletic events. Developed theme night promotions and supported production of all printed materials and events. electronic media advertising, etc. Connor also works as a high school athletic director, and he held several intern roles prior to working at McKendree.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Lindenwood University-Belleville. He earned a master’s degree in education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He earned a master’s degree in sports management from Missouri Baptist University. He is pursuing a PhD in college access/career readiness and student support services in higher education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
