While Credit Suisse engineers may not be a priority for UBS, these employees are still being valued elsewhere. Zohar Melamed, Credit Suisse’s chief engineer for wealth management, was scouted by a quantitative hedge fund, but this is not the first time he has been forced to leave UBS.
Melamed will join Qube Research and Technologies in London. He remains tight-lipped about what he aims to do there, saying, “Inevitably, we’re going to accomplish some things.”

Melamed joined Credit Suisse as a managing director in 2016 after an apparent seven-year hiatus. Previously, he managed front and middle office equity derivatives developers at UBS.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Melamed was a video game developer and worked for StarFox developer Argonaut Games. He left the gaming industry and joined BNP in the finance department at Paribas, where he became head of technology architecture.
