Boulder County Climate Innovation Fund accepts project proposals – Boulder Daily Camera

Boulder County is accepting applications for $550,000 in 2024 Climate Innovation Fund grants.

The county, along with carbon management company Carbon Direct, is accepting proposals from individuals, teams and organizations for local projects aimed at carbon removal and landscape restoration and protection.

Proposals that meet criteria set by the county will advance to a four-week application phase during which applicants will present detailed project plans. Projects will be evaluated based on their creativity and accuracy of carbon removal calculations, with particular emphasis on historically disadvantaged groups.

Boulder County’s funding for these grants follows a series of successful projects proposed in 2022, including Boulder Watershed Collective and Boulder Mushroom’s decomposition of wildfire wood waste and Olin Farms’ carbon farming expansion. This is the second time we have donated money.

The deadline to submit proposals is March 21 and can be submitted at bouldercounty.gov/climate/innovationfund/.
