“This includes assigning a role to an agency under my ministry, namely TEKUN Nasional, to be one of the leaders of the RM1 billion Bumiputra Microcredit Financing Fund focused on women, youth and veterans. included,” he said.
He was responding to the Prime Minister’s announcement at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Bumiputera Economic Conference in Putrajaya today to allocate RM1 billion to develop a new generation of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in high-growth sectors managed by the Government Investment Company. . .
Mr Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, announced in his speech that the government would allocate up to RM1 billion for microcredit financing for Bumiputeras through development financial institutions such as Bank Simpanan National (BSN), Agrobank and TEKUN National.
The fund aims to provide support to Bumiputera entrepreneurs from different demographics, including women, youth, veterans, traders, gig workers, and food truck operators.
Iwon hoped that the initiative would encourage women, youth and veterans to participate in entrepreneurship.
“I have always believed that the entrepreneurial and cooperative movements, as well as the education movement, can act as a bulwark against poverty, another issue that the Prime Minister highlighted during Parliament,” he said.
