The family and friends of Keith R. Kennedy Sr., vice president for student development at Daytona State University, have established the DSC Foundation and Endowed Scholarship Fund in his memory. Mr. Kennedy passed away in September 2021.
The Keith R. Kennedy Sr. Legacy Scholarship supports students who have exhausted all other sources of financial support or whose program of study does not provide financial support. The scholarship also provides support for students returning to university or starting university later in life.

“Keith was a beloved teacher, mentor, colleague and friend. He touched the lives of countless people and made a difference in everyone he met,” said DSC President Tom Lobasso. .
Kennedy spent more than 40 years at Daytona State University, starting in 1980 and holding a variety of positions from student employee to university administrator. Over the years, he held a variety of professional and managerial positions including admissions, community engagement, adult education, and social services. Legal and Career Services. He was appointed Assistant Director of Legal and Disability Services in 2008. Two years later, he was promoted to Director of Student Development and in 2016 was appointed Vice-Chancellor.
