CLEWISTON, Fla. — A new networking event in Clewiston is aimed at helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses. The Clewiston Chamber of Commerce says events like this are necessary because Hendry County is rapidly growing.
Among the entrepreneurs looking forward to the event is Tania Valadez, owner of Prestige Cleaning Services. Launched during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Valadez’s business has experienced significant growth, expanding to nine employees and looking to expand its services.
“We learned how to clean better, how to disinfect better. We were the ones handling the hazardous materials, the sprayers, the steamers, everything,” Valadez shared, adding that during difficult times, She highlighted the resilience her business has shown.
Hilary Hyslope, executive director of the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce, said the Working Women networking event is not only a platform for entrepreneurs like Valadez to showcase their businesses, but also serves as a business incubator. It is said that it also works.
“This is someone who can help you develop your thoughts and ideas, get them from your head to paper, and then make them come true,” Hyslope explains.
The networking event will be attended by 25 local business owners, with the aim of doubling the number of participants at subsequent gatherings. The event, scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce, is free to attend and is part of a quarterly series.
Looking back on his journey so far, Valadez shared the biggest thing he’s learned about business so far.
“Wake up, make a plan, set a goal, and you will succeed,” she advises fellow entrepreneurs.
