Cattle operators affected by wildfires in the Texas Panhandle and western Oklahoma can apply for financial assistance through the Texas Southwest Cattlemen’s Association (TSCRA) Disaster Relief Fund.
The TSCRA Disaster Relief Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists ranchers and landowners affected by natural disasters, has lost cattle due to recent wildfire damage that was not covered by insurance or assistance. Financial aid will be distributed to alleviate the financial burden incurred by breeders.
The open call comes after hundreds of individuals and businesses donated generous gifts in response to the nation’s second-largest wildfire. Donations are still being accepted to help ranchers and landowners affected by this natural disaster.
Ranchers and landowners in counties where a disaster has been declared are eligible to apply during the public application period. An applicant does not need to be a TSCRA member to be eligible for assistance.
To apply for funding, individuals must submit an online application detailing their loss or damage caused by the bushfires. Documents that should be included include: insurance policies and claims, inventory records, photographs, and other reports.
