International Women’s Day 2024: International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year. Here are some of the greatest female entrepreneurs and their educational backgrounds.
Indra Nooyi: Former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi was born in Madras in 1955 and completed his schooling from Holy Angels Anglo-Indian High School, T. Nagar, Chennai. He then obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from the Christian College of Madras, University of Madras, and a Diploma in Postgraduate Program from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. She then moved to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in public and private management at the Yale School of Management, then to Boston, where she joined PepsiCo in 1994 after working for organizations such as Consulting Group and Motorola. In 2006 she was appointed CEO.
Kiran Mazumdar Shaw: The Biocon founder was born in Bangalore in 1953 and graduated from Bishop Cotton Girls’ High School. She studied malting and brewing at the University of Melbourne Ballarat in Australia, where she earned her Master Brewer degree in 1975.
Falguni Nayar: The founder and CEO of beauty company Nykaa was born in Mumbai in 1963 and graduated with BCom from Sydenham College of Commerce. He then pursued a postgraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (matriculated in 1985). She founded her Nykaa in April 2012.
Vinita Singh: The Shark Tank India judge was born in 1983 in Anand, Gujarat. She completed her education at Delhi Public School RK Her Pramand and then she obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras. She then completed her MBA at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA).
