The Marketing and Sales Association hosted its annual networking gala on February 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Marketing and Sales Association students were invited to network with companies looking for employees and interns.
“I learned about the positions and opportunities in this field,” said Maina Balasbas, a fourth-year student studying interdisciplinary studies. “I will be able to conduct marketing research for internships more effectively in the future.”

The guest list included companies like Stugent, Shine Solar, Home Care Pulse, Frozen Dessert Supplies, and Podium.
“We realized that (BYU-I) students are a special breed,” said Tanner Steward, Home Care Pulse’s business development representative manager. “They apply many of the skills they learned in school to us.”, And they do it amazingly well. ”
This is the third year that the Marketing and Sales Association has held a networking gala for its members.
Marketing professor Luke Alley, who helped organize the event, said the gala provided a casual and fun atmosphere for students to get to know the company.
Alley said this while networking with companies., Students should remember that representatives are ordinary people looking for ordinary people to work for them.

“Just like you, they change their socks every day,” Alley said. “Be yourself.”
The gala was held at the Woodman Ballroom in Rexburg. The theme of the night was 1920’s black and gold.
Participants included questions such as “I’m a BYU-Idaho graduate,” “I work in Stu Kent,” and “I’m a BYU-Idaho graduate.” I’m wearing Nike. ”

Participants were given raffle tickets for the bingo tournament. Raffle prizes included a Bluetooth speaker, a T-shirt, a drink cooler, and chocolates.
A jazz combo sponsored by Shine Solar provided live music to attendees.
