As the title of the drone show held atop Aspen Mountain during World Cup weekend suggests, Aspen is truly “Ski City, Race City.”
World Cup ski racing is back with a bang, with the men’s giant slalom taking place on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd, and the slalom on Sunday, March 3rd.
Alpine racers from around the world participated in the men’s technology competition, with fans gathering along the course and in the grandstands and VIP tents at the base. The Winternationals festivities began at Snowmass for the opening ceremony, but the winter festivities centered primarily around Wagner Park included live music and DJs, food and beverage booths, sponsor activities, merchandise tents, and free commemorative race posters. It was held.
For me, the most unique and surprising element of the weekend was the drone sky story by Nova Sky Stories, which tells the lore of ski racing on Aspen Mountain with 800 drones choreographed in the most captivating way.
Congratulations to all the teams behind a weekend of racing and entertainment, and thank you for the great program!
