BEMIDJI — The Otto Bremer Trust recently selected the Northwest Minnesota Foundation as its philanthropic intermediary partner to manage and distribute funds through its new Community Response Fund.
Under a new partnership, the Northwest Minnesota Foundation will work closely with the Otto Bremer Trust to award up to $75,000 in grants to support local organizations that directly respond to pressing challenges and opportunities in their communities. The company will manage $350,000 in funds, the release said.
“The Otto Bremer Trust is proud to partner with the Northwest Minnesota Foundation to manage and distribute grants in northwest Minnesota,” said Frank Miley, co-CEO and director of OBT, in a release. I mentioned it in the.
The Trust’s mission is to provide funding to organizations and programs that effectively address the challenges and opportunities of our communities, he added.
“What better way to better understand where these challenges lie than by working with organizations like the Northwest Minnesota Foundation that are fully integrated into the communities and regions we serve. Probably not,” Miley continued. “We look forward to working closely together to increase our impact.”
Award-winning organizations will build community assets, provide basic needs, health and wellbeing support, restorative and responsive services, and/or bring stability to individuals and families facing disruptive forces in their lives. I will focus on that.
“We are honored to have been chosen to partner with the Otto Bremer Trust’s Community Response Fund,” Cory Boushie, program director for the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, said in a release. “There are many worthy nonprofits in our region doing important work, and these funds will impact our entire community.”
Nonprofit organizations that would like to share their efforts in these areas should email info@nwmf.org.
