Patel broke his leg two weeks before filming and broke his hand during filming. “If you watch the movie, you’ll see that my hand is wrapped in plastic wrap,” Patel said, showing a cameo appearance on his injured hand. He also performed the kitchen fight scene with one hand.
Jordan Peele was present to introduce Patel.
Universal flipped and acquired the film from Netflix. A major theatrical release is scheduled for April 5th. It was initially reported that Netflix had acquired the worldwide version of the film for $30 million. Peele saw the film and believed it deserved a theatrical release on the big screen.
