a A metal crushing and recycling company plans to invest $11 million to add its seventh operation in South Carolina, according to the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
DCC Metal Recycling expects to create 78 jobs at its new 48-acre facility in Dillon County.

DCC Metal Recycling was founded in 1943 in Hemingway, South Carolina.
Matica Group establishes first North American manufacturing site
Matica Group, a global identity and payments solutions provider, will establish its first North American manufacturing location in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The $2 million investment is expected to create 40 jobs in Greer, SC Commerce said.
Sandro Camilleri, founder and CEO of Matica Group, said the company had been looking at opening a U.S. location “for some time.”
“South Carolina is consistently ranked as one of the most business-friendly states in the country, and combined with the existing professional technical staff already located here, Greer makes perfect sense as a location for a new facility. “It meant being in line with the rules,” Camilleri said. “Local associations and authorities have been very supportive and we have felt very welcome and look forward to future success.”
Based in Switzerland, Matica Group has 200 employees and 11 facilities worldwide.
The Greer site is expected to be operational in July 2024.
The Economic Development Coordinating Council approved job development credits for both projects.
