Gosling gave a shoutout to stuntman Logan Holiday, who broke the Guinness World Record for the most canon roles in the film. “Eight and a half rolls,” Gosling explained with a big laugh. “There’s a moment in the movie where he buckles me up for the stunt he’s about to do, and then I come out of the car and he’s about to do the stunt he’s just done. He patted me on the back.”
“How awful is that?!” he said.
“This is an opportunity to finally recognize stunt performers and the incredible contributions they make to film,” Gosling said.
“I hope it’s a reflection of how much the staff contributed,” the actor said in a post-screening Q&A.
fall guy Director David Leitch said Gosling was hired very early on and the film was a “love letter to stuntmen.” The investigation part of the plot was always present, but a love story element between Gosling and Emily Blunt’s characters was added.
Leach asked how it was that the audience enjoyed the romantic part of the story and the room went wild.
“As a stuntman for 20 years, this movie is really personal to me, and it’s amazing that Ryan[Gosling]was able to bring it to life,” Leitch said.
SXSW is a special place for Leach. This is where Reach made its world premiere in 2017. atomic blonde, The film grossed $51 million at the domestic box office in late summer and $100 million worldwide.
