Mr. El-Hawary is based in the firm’s Cairo office and brings more than 20 years of comprehensive legal experience, particularly in the banking, energy and infrastructure sectors.
Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company, El Hawary served as General Counsel for a prominent Abu Dhabi-based bank, providing outside legal counsel to major financial institutions. Over the past 14 years, he has played a central role in the mergers and acquisitions of almost all major banks in Egypt.
Mr. El-Hawary is also a key advisor on key energy and infrastructure initiatives, including Egypt’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) program. His contributions to project finance earned him the Global Award for Multilateral Transaction of the Year from Thomson Reuters.
