Time Out has released its list of the world’s 30 coolest streets, with Melbourne’s High Street taking the top spot.
Content comes from editors and contributors from publishers based in cities around the world, including every continent except Antarctica.
Each of the 30 listings includes tips on where to eat and drink, as well as information about the history and heritage of the boulevard.

Buenos Aires (Avenue Guatemala), Manila (Avenue LP Leviste), Tokyo (Avenida Chazawa) are among the top 10, followed by Vancouver (Commercial Drive), Sydney (Foster Street) and Rio de Janeiro (Arnaldo Quintela).

There is only one UK city on the list, with London’s Gerrard Street coming in at number 17.
This pedestrian street in the heart of Soho’s Chinatown has been hailed as “probably the busiest and liveliest place in London”. Time Out’s London editor Joe McCartich highlights the street’s food stalls and eateries, as well as its “Gen Z-friendly shops and boutiques.”
The list includes several European entries and provides plenty of inspiration for those planning the perfect weekend city getaway this spring.

Calle Boavista, the central boulevard that runs through Lisbon’s lively Cais do Sodre, was ranked seventh, while Porto’s Calle Sa de Noronha came in at number 16 elsewhere in Portugal.
Spain also has two entries: Barcelona’s pedestrian Consell de Cent and Madrid’s trendy Calle de la Conde Duque. Other European cities with streets include Berlin (Olanien Street), Paris (Belleville Street), Dublin (Camden Street), and Athens (Trun Street).
The list includes four American streets. While New York is represented by Fifth Avenue in Park and the Slopes, East Third Avenue in Los Angeles’ Arts District stands alongside Chicago’s 18th Street, a stronghold of the Mexican-American community. It is attracting attention. Miami’s Miracle His Mile rounds out the participating regions in the United States.
