Oluseyi Michaels is the founder of Culr, a startup that bridges the gap in the leisure industry by helping people live healthy, balanced lifestyles.
Michaels was inspired to found Culr to help people explore leisure experiences at their fingertips, despite their busy schedules.
“Culr was founded to make leisure experiences easily accessible to everyone. We bundled it into technology – an app. You can find travel packages, activities that will help you improve your lifestyle,” he said.

Michaels explains that the experiences of those around her helped her understand how difficult it is to maintain a work-life balance. He said his team is primarily focused on building leisure-oriented solutions suited to the challenges highlighted.
“I had friends and colleagues who often complained about the stress of work and talked about the impact of work on their mental health. Some even had very little life outside of work, and I could relate to this issue very much.
“It was clear that Cal could help solve these problems and enable people to live healthy, balanced lifestyles. Our ambitions are aligned with greater social impact. I was very satisfied and couldn’t help but raise the flag in support of the concept of work-life,” he explained.
He further added that the company wanted to fill a gap that it saw within the industry, so he and his team worked to understand what the concept of leisure meant to their young customers, and what it meant to young people and society as a whole. He added that there is a need to understand the impact on
Michaels, who has worked with about four companies, has spent the past year building, experimenting, and understanding customer challenges, which influenced his direction and strategy for the year. He hopes Cal will grow into the Amazon of leisure over the next few years, connecting and enabling leisure operators and end consumers around the world.
“We are a value and impact-driven company, and we are committed to delivering as much value as possible to leisure businesses and consumers around the world,” Michaels added.
Michaels says of the company’s products: “We have two main products: The Culr app is a B2B2C product that we are developing, designed to help end consumers discover and purchase a variety of leisure experiences from leisure operators around the world. “And Bubli by Culr is a B2B product that helps companies with employee wellness initiatives, team bonding hangouts, corporate gifting, event planning, and more.”

He also said the company plans to rebrand from “CulrCorporate” to “Bubli by Culr” and expand to other states in Nigeria.
