The marketing campaign, based on the commonwealth’s first economic development strategy in nearly 20 years, reinforces Governor Josh Shapiro’s aggressive budget proposal to strengthen Pennsylvania’s competitiveness.
The campaign runs through April in New York City, Chicago and throughout Pennsylvania and is targeted at business owners and site selection consultants.
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – Today, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger announced a new brand marketing campaign to support business attraction efforts in the commonwealth — Pennsylvania has done just that..
The campaign builds on the growing momentum from the federal new 10-year economic development strategy launched in January and strengthens Gov. Josh Shapiro’s proposed 2024-25 budget. The Governor’s budget includes his $600 million in new and expansion investments that will strengthen his DCED’s ability to implement his new 10-year strategic plan.
“To compete to attract and retain new and existing businesses, we must invest in economic development and actively promote Pennsylvania as a great place to do business,” said Secretary Siger. “Pennsylvania Get It Done is a dynamic and impactful business attraction campaign that will raise awareness of our nation’s economic development strategy and inspire business leaders across the commonwealth and beyond to rediscover what Pennsylvania has to offer. ”
Pennsylvania’s Gets It Done campaign focuses on the commonwealth’s key industries including energy and agriculture, its skilled graduates, diverse and talented workforce, and its ranking as a top state to start and run a business I’m guessing. Governor Shapiro’s 2024-25 budget includes investments to help advance his 10-year economic development strategy, including: $25 million for the Main Street Matters Program, which supports small businesses and commercial corridors across the commonwealth. $20 million to support innovation at scale and leverage Pennsylvania’s best-in-class research and development assets. His $3.5 million to create and launch the Pennsylvania Regional Economic Competitiveness Challenge to promote regional growth.
