The long-awaited interview between X owner Elon Musk and former CNN journalist Don Lemon was published on Monday on Lemon’s personal social media platforms and YouTube channel. Lemon’s new show, “X,” on which the interview was scheduled to air, was canceled by Musk and his team after the heated interview.
Musk and Lemon broached a variety of controversial topics during the 90-minute sit-down, with Musk becoming more agitated as the interview progressed.

“You’re upsetting me,” Musk said toward the end.
Here are four key moments from the tense interview.
Musk has admitted to using ketamine to improve productivity and doesn’t think Tesla shareholders have anything to worry about.
Asked about his prescription use of ketamine, a tranquilizer for horses, Musk told Lemon that he believes the drug “helps get you out of a negative mindset.”
“If you use too much ketamine, it really slows you down. I have a lot of jobs, and I usually work 16-hour days,” Musk explained. “So I don’t have a situation where I’m not mentally unstable for an extended period of time.”
When Lemon asked Musk if this was a concern for Tesla shareholders, Musk was unmoved.

“From a Wall Street perspective, it’s all about execution. Are you building value for investors? Tesla is worth about the same as the rest of the auto industry combined,” he said. “So from an investor’s perspective, if you’re taking something, you need to keep taking it.”
Asked about the nature of the prescription, Musk said it was “private.”
Musk believes his work is for the greater good of humanity.
Mr. Musk told Mr. Lemon that he believed the work he was doing was for the greater good of human civilization and the future of humanity.
“If I die knowing I did the right thing, or did my best to do the right thing, even if the history books say I was wrong, I’d still be okay with that.” “I value the reality of the good, not the perception of it,” he said. “We want to make sure that we don’t have, for example, the demographic collapse that’s happening in many countries. They just have very low birth rates. We obviously want to avoid World War III. It’s a civilizational risk. That’s what I care about. It’s a civilizational risk.”
Musk says X is a joke
“I use it to post jokes, sometimes trivia, sometimes very important things,” he said.
At its best, X (and Twitter before it) sparks meaningful conversations and, at its worst, heated debates. Musk told Lemon that he believes X can be used as a “player-versus-player platform” (a video game term in which players play against each other rather than against the computer).
Musk explained that he enjoys playing video games with PVP as a way to relax, but said that’s not necessarily why he logs on to the platform.
Musk said he has not made any political contributions to anyone during this election cycle, nor does he intend to do so.
Despite having a controversial breakfast meeting with former US President Donald Trump in Palm Beach and speaking out on a number of issues, Musk has said he will not make political donations.
“I’m going to give my opinion. I don’t want to judge because it’s financially important,” Musk told Lemon.
He also said he has not made a final choice on who will get the vote this November.
