The University of Illinois at Chicago will launch an online master of science degree program in marketing this fall. This program is designed for marketing professionals and those wishing to enter this field and offers cutting-edge digital marketing and marketing analysis courses.
The new program will begin the fall semester on August 26th. The program will be taught at Chicago’s top business school, the UIC Lyotaud Graduate School of Business, and will be operated within the UIC School of Business, giving students access to networks around the world. UIC has 52,000 business graduates.
The new program will prepare students to excel in key areas of marketing, including marketing management, digital and social media marketing, consumer behavior, advertising, and global marketing.

“Our innovative Master of Science in Marketing online program provides students with a unique opportunity to develop expertise and develop highly sought-after skills in the dynamic field of marketing,” said Dean of the School of Business Administration said Sandy Wayne. “With courses designed by our highly qualified faculty, we have created an immersive learning environment that mirrors the depth and appeal of our on-campus offerings, helping our online students feel confident and successful as marketing professionals.” We aim to ensure that we are fully prepared to do so.”
The program consists of eight courses on quantitative and qualitative aspects of marketing. The fully asynchronous online course is offered in short 8-week periods, giving students maximum flexibility to take it when and where they want.
Full-time students typically take two 8-week courses at a time, while part-time students take one 8-week course at a time. Full-time students can complete the entire program in four to five consecutive eight-week terms, or in as little as 12 months.
The goal is to provide more access to working adults who cannot come to campus. The program was developed by Professor David Gall, Head of UIC’s Marketing Department, and Alan Malter, Associate Professor and Director of the Marketing Graduate Master of Science Program in the Marketing Department.
“Many people want to earn a degree while still working or because they don’t live near campus,” Gall said. “For these students, the convenience of an online degree allows them to better integrate their educational pursuits into their lives. It also allows students around the world to access world-class marketing faculty and curriculum, no matter where they are.” It will be.”
Malter said the online program is suitable for students from all academic backgrounds and different levels of work experience. This includes students with bachelor’s degrees in any field, from engineering to the humanities.

“Marketing is a hybrid of many disciplines, so students can find elements of their first field of study in marketing to fill in other important parts of their curriculum,” Malter said. “The program welcomes students continuing their education straight from undergrad, as well as students with several years of work experience who are returning to the classroom to refresh their knowledge and skills, or who are transitioning into a new career in marketing. To do.”
The online program is taught by the same faculty as the on-campus marketing program and combines theory with practical application. Our highly interactive, student-centered program prioritizes active student participation through discussion boards, video postings, collaborative projects, and more.
Liautaud Graduate School is AACSB accredited, the highest level of accreditation a business school can earn.
