NEW LONDON, Wis. – The New London Community Foundation was recently established as a permanent endowment fund under the Fox Valley Regional Community Foundation and is designed to strengthen local philanthropy.
Similar to community savings accounts, the fund will be a repository of sustainable resources dedicated to supporting local organizations working to improve the quality of life for all residents. These funds are donated through an annual grant process to charities that aim to improve our communities.
Neighboring communities such as Waupaca, Clintonville, Chilton, Brillion and Shawano have long benefited from established community foundations and permanent endowments, but New London is now stepping up its role .
This effort gained momentum thanks to the efforts of the Van Alstyne family, who have mobilized support from community leaders, businesses, organizations and friends to establish and cultivate the New London Community Foundation. Donations of any size are welcome and are tax deductible.
The New London Community Fund, operated under the Fox Valley Area Community Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is managed and invested on behalf of the philanthropy.
To donate, individuals can send a check payable to the New London Community Foundation, 4455 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, WI 54914, or donate online at www.cffoxvalley.org/give-.
For more information about the New London Community Foundation or if you would like to get involved in this effort, please contact Joe Van Alstine or Lori Dehlinger Van Alstine at 920-428-6961. This initiative represents an important step toward promoting community resiliency and support for those in need within the New London region.
