After two tense semi-final matches in front of a sold-out crowd, hosts Canada will face defending champion Switzerland in the gold medal final of the BKT World Women’s Curling Championship.
Both semifinals went to the final stone, with Canada defeating South Korea 9-7 and Switzerland defeating Italy 6-3. The match for the bronze medal between South Korea and Italy will begin at 11:00, and the gold medal match will be held at 5:00 p.m.

In the semi-final between Canada and South Korea, Canadian skip Rachel Homan took the lead by scoring two points in the second end. However, in the third end, Korean skip Kim Eun-ji hit a double to score three points and take a 3-2 lead.
By the ninth end, Canada led 6-5, and Ghim pushed Canada’s stone for two points for a 7-6 lead. In the 10th end, Homan hit an open Korean stone to score three points and win 9-7.
After the win, Homan said, “I feel like I’m on top of the world right now. I’m so proud of my team’s fight and they were phenomenal in front of me.” I would like to take a moment to thank you for the support I have received from. Italy vs Switzerland
In the other semi-final, Switzerland vs. Italy, Switzerland led 2-1, but in the fifth end Italian skip Stefania Constantini scored a point with a raiseout to tie the score at 2-2.
In the seventh end, with the score still at 2-2, Switzerland’s fourth player, Alina Paets, pulled the final stone into the crowded venue to score two points and give her team a 4-2 lead. Ta. The eighth end was blank, and Italy’s Constantini hit the final stone in the ninth to score a point and cut Switzerland’s lead to 4-3.
Finally, in the 10th end, Switzerland’s Paetz hit, knocking out two of Italy’s stones and scoring two points for a 6-3 victory.
