McDonald’s breakfast is about to get even sweeter.
On Monday, the fast food chain announced that it is partnering with Krispy Kreme to launch three types of Krispy Kreme donuts at select McDonald’s stores later this year and nationwide by the end of 2026.
When the donuts are officially launched, customers will be able to enjoy the famous original glazed flavor, chocolate ice cream with sprinkles, and cream-infused flavors.

Josh Charlesworth, president and CEO of Krispy Kreme, said: “Through this partnership, we will double the number of access points by the end of 2026 by making Kreme Krispies accessible to fans nationwide. We expect it to be higher than that,” the company said in a release. “This partnership will accelerate the development of our existing daily delivery channels and create operational leverage through distribution density and production utilization.”
The partnership was initially piloted at approximately 160 restaurants in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky areas. Charlesworth said demand for donuts during the period “exceeded” both McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme’s expectations.
Customers will be able to purchase single donuts or six-packs after they are “delivered fresh” to McDonald’s stores in the morning. Sweet Circles will be available for purchase throughout the day until sold out.
Krispy Kreme is also giving away one free Original Glazed Donut to guests who visit their local Krispy Kreme store today (March 26) between 5pm and 9pm local time. .
The partnership comes at a critical time for McDonald’s, which saw weak performance in the fourth quarter of 2023, with U.S. sales increasing 4.3% on a quarterly basis, compared to an expected 4.4% increase.

“As we move into 2024, I think the focus is probably going to be on what I would call affordability,” McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said during the company’s fourth-quarter 2023 earnings call. ” he said.
McDonald’s is up more than 1.7% annually as of Tuesday afternoon, while Krispy Kreme has soared more than 28% in just 24 hours after announcing the partnership.
