Through a partnership with the Otto Bremer Trust (OBT) and its Community Response Fund, the Initiative Foundation will award $750,000 in grants to organizations that directly respond to central Minnesota’s pressing challenges and opportunities.
Grants ranging from $10,000 to $75,000 will support the four pillars of the Otto Bremer Trust’s founding mission: basic needs, building community assets. health and well-being. Restorative and responsive service. The organization must be located and serve 14 counties and two Native American tribes in Central Minnesota. The grant cycle begins March 25th and ends May 1st. “The Otto Bremer Trust is proud to partner with the Initiative Foundation to manage and distribute grants in the Minnesota metropolitan area,” said Frank Miley, co-CEO and trustee of OBT. The Initiative Foundation serves as the administrative hub for Minnesota Initiative Foundation partners to provide grants throughout Minnesota. Each of the six Minnesota Initiative Foundations accepts grant applications from nonprofit organizations in their respective regions. They establish their own timelines and guidelines.
