A 30-year-old man was found dead inside a plane’s engine at Salt Lake City International Airport Monday night.
Kyler Effinger, of Park City, Utah, was reportedly found inside the engine of a Delta Air Lines plane that was flying from Salt Lake City to San Francisco. The battle returned to the gate and was called off. All passengers were rebooked to later flights.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. when airport staff reported a disturbance after Effinger passed through an emergency exit. Police found personal items and clothing believed to belong to Effinger on the runway.
Effinger was found unconscious inside a section of the engine attached to the wing of a plane that had been stopped on the runway for de-icing. Authorities tried to revive him, including using naloxone to reverse an opioid overdose. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Delta is fully cooperating with all aviation authorities and law enforcement agencies in their investigation because nothing is more important than the safety and security of our customers and people,” a Delta spokesperson said. told CBS.
