Womble Bond Dickinson Partners Jack Hicks and Taylor Aye will present a session at the 2024 American Home Furnitures Alliance Marketing/PR Conference on February 6th at GTCC’s Conference Center.
During the session, Hicks and Ei will provide marketing professionals with valuable insights into the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in their strategies. Additionally, we discuss the importance of substantiating claims regarding product content and performance, and discuss the associated legal implications. Finally, this session will examine trademarked blue and white checks and cover topics such as “fair use,” comparative advertising, and infringement.
Jack Hicks leads Womble Bond Dickinson’s Manufacturing Industries sector team. He brings more than 30 years of experience managing complex intellectual property matters, ranging from federal and state litigation to international patent and trademark prosecution strategies. He represents a diverse group of manufacturing and service providers focused on the furniture, outdoor recreation, apparel, food and beverage, nanotechnology, and aerospace industry sectors. Hicks is an active participant in the Womble Bond, his Dickinson Innovation initiative, and serves as an adjunct professor at Elon University School of Law.
Taylor Ey advises clients on privacy and data security issues that overlap with consumer protection law in digital advertising and marketing, as well as transactions where companies seek to inlicense or outlicense intellectual property rights in software or data. My focus is on my work as a lawyer. , technology (including patented or copyrighted technology), or related to strategic branding opportunities and trademark rights. She brings technical teams into the conversation and uses her engineering background to help translate and identify solutions across business, technical, and legal teams. She is recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Certified Information Privacy Professional in the United States and Europe.
