CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A Marine Corps veteran from Loveland is starting a shoe company, thanks to a boot camp that helps veterans become entrepreneurs.
In 2023, Alan Purvis submitted his business idea to the DAV Patriot Boot Camp, where he received capital to launch his company Coastline GOFASTER. Purvis says his stint in the Marines, coupled with his passion for running, inspired him to start the company. Go Fasters are what the Marines call running shoes.
“Over the past year, we basically started with an initial concept and worked our way through it until we were ready to launch,” Parvis recalls. We spent everything we had to get it ready for production. ”
For Parvis, it was important to make these shoes all-terrain suitable not only for recreational runners, but also for military and emergency personnel. He said military personnel and first responders can receive a discount when purchasing GOFASTER.
“In all types of environments in which veterans and first responders perform, we must go wherever we are needed, not choose where we have to go,” Purvis said. he explains. It was really important. ”
The shoes will also support the military community as a way to give back to our fellow service members.
DAV Patriot Boot Camp will be held from February 7th to 9th at DAV Headquarters in Erlanger. Mr. Purvis will be giving a presentation to aspiring entrepreneurs, sharing his own experiences and offering guidance to those who were in his position a year ago on how to best succeed. .
The shoes should be available for purchase next month. Those interested in the shoes can sign up to be notified when the shoes go on sale.
